Bett Norris

I came across Bett Norris' work only today when I was looking through pdf portfolio examples. I think it's pretty obvious why I like her work... motifs! The map illustration relates to my final major project, the camping illustrations relate to my camping pattern and the utensils relate to my CoP pattern! So many lovely drawings! She describes her practice as 'fusing traditional drawing techniques with digital technology.' I'm honestly not sure how she does her textures but they're great! It really reminds me of Olivia's work actually! I'll have to see if she's seen her work before.
I've been a little worried about how far I can go with just drawing motifs and not scenes but recently I've found quite a few illustrators that illustrate mostly motifs, including Bett Norris.
Her clients include Tesco, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Red Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Computer Arts Magazine, Debrief, The School of Life and many more. Seeing this has shown my again that my work could exists with editorial/magazines.
