I've decided that I want t print my business cards off at an online printers rather than at the college this year. The reasons being that one: the front and back didn't line up very well, two: the colours came out a little dull and three: when I cut them, they're not always perfectly straight. I think they will also look a bit more stronger and professional too. When I spoke to Patrick, he said that although my business card design was clever, my contact details (the important information) was big or clear enough. For this reason, I've got to change my design and inside of just altering it, I'm going to try completely changing it.
I had a look at a few printers and my favourite is Moo. The website allows me to choose from a few different options in terms of design. Rounded or pointed corners? Rectangle, square or thin strip? coloured edges? Foil or gloss finish. I'm not bothered about the foil and gold. However I do really like the idea of round corners. This would stop me accidentally damaging the edges and would give it a lovely finish. I do like the idea of a square format, however with if I chose rounded edges it may look like a beer mat. I also want it to fit in someones wallet/purse with ease. There is also the option to have coloured edges which I really like the look of. However, there are only a few colours available and they're very bright.
With all this information in mind I'm going to come up with some thumbnail business card designs.
